| Bridge Builder Award—This award is presented to students and/or student groups for a campaign, initiative, or program that has addressed a campus, local community, or global need. The recipient will have shown noteworthy collaboration and partnership between student organizations, living groups, dorms, teams, individual students, non—profit organizations, and/or governmental groups to raise awareness, share knowledge, and provide solutions. Special attention will be given to those that have shown a commitment to exploration of diverse cultures, education about challenging issues, and/or social justice.
Golden Beaver Award: Group—This award is presented to student organizations, living groups, dorms, or teams that show a strong organizational structure or government, that provide outstanding programming, and that have a significant impact on campus life at MIT. Recipients will have shown dedication to continually improving their group and enhancing the campus environment.
Golden Beaver Award: Individual—This award is presented to undergraduate and graduate students who have created positive change within a student organization, living group, dorm, or team and subsequently improved campus life at MIT. Recipients will have shown dedication to his or her group and enhancing the campus environment, as well as an ability to overcome challenges.
| Larry G. Benedict Leadership Award—This award honors students who have shown dedication to empowering their fellow students to develop as leaders. Recipients are active mentors and coaches to their peers within the MIT community.
Outstanding Event Award—This award is presented to a student organization, living group, or dorm for their efforts to plan and implement an event or series of events that are well developed, organized, and advertised. Recipients' events should have attracted individuals from across MIT and impacted student life at MIT in a considerable way.
Outstanding New Student Leader Award—This award honors up to two students in their first or second year at the Institute who show leadership promise. Recipients are students who have made exemplary contributions to a student organization, living group, department, lab, dorm, initiative, campaign, international project, or team and have helped that group and/or effort grow through their participation. This individual does not necessarily hold a leadership position and may be an undergraduate or graduate student.
| Perspectives Award—This award is presented to students and/or student organizations, living groups, dorms, or teams who have demonstrated a strong commitment to and passion for diversity education and cultural celebration. Recipients will have worked to create positive change in the MIT community through awareness raising, knowledge sharing, empowering others, and/or direct action taking.
Philanthropy Award—This award is presented to a group that coordinated a philanthropic effort or event that raised awareness and funds for a particular charity. Recipients' events should have focused on raising awareness of their selected charity while running a well developed, organized, and advertised event that incorporated multiple segments of the MIT and local community.
Service to Student Life Award—This award honors students who have made a sustained and outstanding contribution to the overall MIT community. Recipients have worked to improve the quality of life at MIT for all students, and their efforts have been felt and are directed beyond any specific student organization, living group, dorm, or team.
